The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Nouakchott organized Wednesday evening, an awards ceremony for students who have distinguished themselves at the end of examinations at the end of the year;
On the occasion of the distribution of these awards, consisting of computers, office equipment and reference books, Professor Sid'Ahmed Ould Mogueya, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, gave a speech in which he congratulated the students for their efforts throughout the academic year 2007-2008, despite some difficulties, especially in terms of subjects, some of which were proposed by faculty from friendly countries.
He added that prices are distributed encourage students to redouble their efforts for healthy competition and raising their level in science. He said that the existence of a medical school on the national soil is an essential element in achieving comprehensive development, particularly in the coverage of national needs ¬ ments in the field of medical personnel, and improving its services .
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine also thanked the Centre National Hospital, the Sheikh Zayed Hospital, companies NOSOMACI and COMITEL who gave the award to the winners.
The spokesman of students, in turn, praised this initiative which, he said, the interest that the Faculty of Medicine gives its students. He expressed the joy of students having to conduct their medical studies on the national soil and to help bridge the deficit recorded in the medical field.
The awards ceremony was attended by vice-president of the University of Nouakchott, deans of faculties and a number of officials and academics at this institution.
