CROP: A cumulative rainfall so far surplus
The amount of rainfall recorded during the third decade of June range from 2mm to Tidjikja, and Moudjéria R'kiz into a rainy day and 194 mm in 5 days Adel Bagrou. These numbers far exceed the average for the last ten years and the year of 2007 for the same period. This is reflected in the latest newsletter agro Meteorological ten developed by the National Office of Meteorology (ONM), in collaboration with Fews Net / Mauritania, which Horizons has received a copy. Given the early winter, the newsletter advises farmers to use seed varieties resistant to cycle to a high humidity.

Maintaining the FIT in a very high position and the strong rebound of the monsoon during the third decade of June, has enabled the development of home-rain storm intensities variables that have concerned the south and centre of the country .

The amount of rainfall recorded during that decade ranged from 2mm to Tidjikja, and Moudjéria Rk'iz in a day and 194 mm in 5 days Adel Bagrou where the amount of rainfall recorded at 30 June, far exceeds the average of ten recent years and the year 2007 for the same period.

The pond Vedra has not dried up during the years 2007 and constitutes a threat to surrounding villages. The liaison with Mali has been largely affected due to rainfall, which will increase the risk of encirclement of the town of Adel Bagrou and nearby villages

The cumulative rainfall ten days, compared to that of 2007, was normal to excess in the majority of rainfall in the country with the exception of posts and Ouadane Moudjéria who are still in deficit.

As the cumulative seasonal from May 1 to June 30, it varies between 2 mm to Tidjikja, and Moudjéria Rk'iz and 202 mm in some localities of the country.

The cumulative seasonal compared to the 1971-2000 normal for the same period, is normal to excess in all positions rainfall, except those of Nouadhibou, Bir Moghrein, Akjoujt, Atar, Tidjikja, Rosso and Nouak ¬ chott.

Compared to the same period last year, it remains wide surplus throughout the country, except Moudjéria and Oualata.

Sowing in several

localities in areas stormwater

The rainfall recorded during this decade have allowed planting operations in several localities in areas of rainfed crops and even in the south and centre of the agro-pastoral zone (Wilayas of Guidimagha, Gorgol, Hodh-Echarghi and Hodh El Gharbi. The satisfaction index of water needs of crops, is satisfactory, we can expect a normal development of the first seeding and therefore a low use of reports seeding.

Sowings made during the second decade of June throughout the south of the growing area rain are at the stage of seedlings.

Improving coverage herbaceous

The good rainfall has resulted in an improved coverage herbaceous south of the country, particularly in the Wilaya of Guidimagha, Assaba and the two Hodhs.

This enables small ruminants any space, which extends from south-east Gorgol (Maghama) south-west of those Hodh Echarghi south of the department Amourj, graze without problem.

The Fit will

a high position

Count Given the early installation of the rainy season in the strip south of the country and the amount of rainfall already recorded confirming trends resulting from seasonal forecasts, it is strongly recommended that farmers use varieties resistant cycle high humidity.

During the next decade, FIT will occupy a position relatively high activities can cause rain-storm over central, southern and south west of the country.

Increases in temperature will be observed with visibilities reduced by sand at the Wilayas of Adrar, Inchiri and Tiris Zemmour.
