| CULTURE: Workshop on the role of intellectuals in the Mauritanian development action |

The Mauritanian Association for Culture and Heritage organized Friday night in Nouakchott a workshop under the theme: "the intellectual Mauritania and its role in democracy and development".
The participants attended lectures on "the concept of culture in the context of Mauritania", presented by Mr. Deddoud Ould Abdallahi, "the concerns of intellectual Mauritania", presented by Mr. Ahmedou Ould Abdel Kader and "aspects of the national awakening among the student movement maûritanien", presented by Mr. El Mahjoub Ould Boyé.
The two poets selected for the next phases of the competition televised "Amir Chouara" Diakité Seck and Sidi Mohamed Ould Bomba presented during the meeting some of their poems.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Minister of Culture and Communication and MM. El Khalil Ennahoui and Ould Mohamed Lemine Ould Idoumou, senior advisers to the Presidency of the Republic.
