Declaration of the Council of Ministers  
The Council of Ministers met Tuesday, July 22, 2008 under the chairmanship of Mr Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi, President of the Republic.

 The Council discussed and approved two project of low include:

Draft law authorizing the ratification of the loan agreement signed on 1 July 2008 in Nouakchott between the Government of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the International Development Association (IDA) for financing the Project Improvement Climate of Economic Activity (PACAE).

 The agreement aims to strengthen the climate of Business in improving the financial environment, legislative and regulatory framework of our country by supporting the restructuring of some public enterprises.

 The project includes the following components:

- Improvement of economic activity to promote private sector development;

- Constitution of public-private partnerships and improving productivity;

- Support for the General Delegation for the Promotion of Private Investment.

- Project of low authorizing the ratification of the loan agreement signed on 02 July 2008 in Nouakchott between the Government of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), amounting to nineteen million (19,000,000) Kuwaiti Dinars, for the financing of the Project for Rehabilitation of the Route de l'Espoir (sections II and IV).

 

This project aims to maintain a permanent liaison between the wilayas crossings by road of hope linking Nouakchott to Nema, develop and improve land transport services on the main road network in the country through the rehabilitation and strengthening of the second section of the road linking the cities of Boutilimit-Aleg with a length of 125 km and the fourth section connecting the cities of Kiffa-Tintane a length of 145 Km

 The Council also considered and adopted the draft decrees following:

-- Draft decree setting the remuneration of members of the Economic and Social Council;

The decree comes under the provisions of Article 23 of the Organic Act 2007-058 of 6 December 2007 on the Economic and Social Council.

-- Draft decree on the composition of the Economic and Social Council.

 Pursuant to the provisions of Article 2 of Decree No. 2008-086 of 16 April 2008, are appointed members of the Economic and Social Council:

-- Teslem Mint Moctar Ould Samba, Representative of the Union of Workers of Mauritania,

-- Abderrahmane Ould Boubou, Representative of the Union of Workers of Mauritania,

- Abdellahi Ould Mohamed said Nahah Representative of the General Confederation of Workers of Mauritania,

- Mamadou Niang, Representative of the General Confederation of Workers of Mauritania,

- Samory Ould Beye, Representative of the Confederation of Free Workers of Mauritania,

- Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ould Jiyid, Representative of the National Union of Workers of Mauritania,

Kane-Moctar, Representative of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Mauritania,

- Moulaye Sidi Mohamed Abass, Representative of the Union Nationale du Patronat Mauritania,

Under qualified personalities in the economic, social, scientific and cultural research:

- Ahmed Ould Sidi Baba,

- Achour Ould Samba,

Barro-Abdoulaye,

- Mohamed Ould Cheikh Sidiya,

- Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cherif,

- Nebghouha Mint T'Lamid.

 The Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic presented a paper on the implementation of the Special Intervention Programme.

The Council notes with satisfaction the progress of various parts of the Platform including food aid, agriculture, animal husbandry and management.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation presented a paper on the international situation.

The Minister of the Interior presented a paper on the domestic situation.
