Mauritania keen to boost cooperation  

December 3, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — Mauritanian President Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdellahi affirmed on Monday his country’s keenness to boost its all-around cooperation with Sudan.

In a joint press conference with Sudanese President Omer Al- Bashir, the Mauritanian president appreciated Sudan’s leadership, its people in boosting the deep-rooted and historic bilateral relations between the two countries.

Highlighting Sudan’s contribution in the fields of development and services in Mautitania, the Mauritanian president expressed welcome of his country to the Sudanese businessmen to invest and implement development projects in his country.

The Sudanese president, on his part, expressed appreciation to the stances of Mauritania to Sudan at the bilateral, regional and international levels.

President Al-Bashir lauded the excellent political relations between Sudan and Mauritania and their cooperation in the regional and international forums, saying that the visit of the Mauritanian president would give a great boost to the bilateral relations and joint cooperation in all fields.

The Mauritanian president left Khartoum in the afternoon, winding up a three-day official visit in Sudan, during which he held meetings with President al-Bashir, Vice President Ali Osman Mohammed Taha as well as other senior Sudanese officials on the bilateral ties and other issues of common concern.
